Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to provide remote Operations Support for their facilities, including the Upington site. The role focuses on troubleshooting, optimizing processes, and maintaining plant efficiency from a distance.

You will analyze data, use remote monitoring tools, and work with on-site teams to implement changes. A Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and 6+ years of experience are required, with strong communication skills and experience with DCS/SCADA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of experience in chemical plant operations, process engineering, or technical support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data interpretation.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support teams remotely.
• Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for chemical plant operations.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement recommendations for process optimization and debottlenecking.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to implement changes and monitor their effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to operational procedures and safety protocols through remote guidance.
• Prepare technical reports and conduct virtual training sessions for plant staff.
