Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a leading global media and public relations firm, seeks a remote PR & Media Coordinator. This fully remote role supports the PR team with media lists, scheduling, coverage tracking, and materials preparation for diverse campaigns.

You will gain valuable experience in a remote-first environment, with South Africa as the primary market and the Eastern Cape location as a potential base if desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Journalism, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years in PR/communications/marketing or a relevant internship.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with media databases (Cision, Muck Rack) is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain media contact databases.
• Schedule meetings, interviews, and press events for the PR team.
• Track media coverage and prepare reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in creating and distributing press releases and advisories.
• Research media opportunities, journalist backgrounds, and industry trends.
• Manage PR materials and media assets.
• Provide logistics support for remote and in-person activities.
• Support social media monitoring and basic content scheduling.
• Serve as point of contact for routine media inquiries.
• Contribute to campaign planning and brainstorming.
