You will support the global team from your home office, assisting in PR campaigns, media monitoring, content creation support, and administrative tasks for clients around East London, Eastern Cape, and beyond.

The role suits an aspiring PR professional with excellent written and verbal communication, strong organization, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in public relations, marketing, or communications (internships count).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and basic understanding of PR principles.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Experience with media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision) is a plus.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of public relations strategies and campaigns.
• Conduct media research, identify relevant media outlets and journalists, and maintain media contact lists.
• Monitor media coverage across channels and compile reports.
• Draft and proofread press releases, media advisories, pitches, and other materials.
• Support event planning and execution for virtual and in-person media events.
• Manage and update client databases and internal PR tracking systems.
• Provide administrative support to the PR team, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
• Assist in social media content scheduling and community management tasks.
• Help prepare client reports and presentations.
• Research industry trends and competitor activities to support strategic planning.
