Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote Media Relations Coordinator to join a growing communications team. This fully remote role allows you to contribute from anywhere while supporting our media outreach efforts, managing inquiries, coordinating press materials, and assisting with virtual events.

You will work closely with the PR team to ensure consistent messaging across channels and contribute to high-profile campaigns for clients globally from Durban.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in media relations or PR.
• Proficiency with media monitoring tools and PR software is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate media outreach activities and respond to media requests.
• Assist in creating and distributing press releases and media kits.
• Maintain and update the media contact database.
• Monitor media coverage and compile placement reports.
• Plan and coordinate virtual press conferences and online events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align on communication strategies.
