Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Remote Power Systems Engineer to join their team, supporting projects in Upington, Northern Cape. You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
7+ years of experience in power system analysis, design, and engineering.
Proficiency with power system simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, PowerWorld).
Strong knowledge of power generation technologies, transmission and distribution networks.
Experience with protective relaying, grid codes, and electrical safety standards.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, adept at remote teamwork.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, transient stability, and harmonic analysis.
Design and specify electrical equipment for substations, power plants, and distribution networks.
Develop protection schemes and coordination studies for power systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations (SANS, IEEE).
Provide technical expertise and support for construction, commissioning, and operation of power system assets.
Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
