Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a remote Electrical Engineer with expertise in Grid Integration to join a distributed team handling projects in the Rustenburg region and beyond. The role focuses on connecting renewable energy sources to the national grid while maintaining stability and power quality.

You will analyze grid requirements, run studies with PSS/E/ETAP/PSCAD, and collaborate with utilities and engineers to deliver robust, scalable solutions from a remote work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems).
• 5+ years in power systems with focus on grid interconnection of renewables.
• Proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP or PSCAD.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze grid requirements and develop technical interconnection specifications.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability) with specialized software.
• Develop strategies for grid integration of solar, wind and storage systems.
• Collaborate with grid operators, utilities and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, interconnection agreements.
• Provide remote technical support to project development and construction teams.
