Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Grid Integration for our client near Paarl to advance renewable energy connections to the national grid.

You will perform power flow, short circuit, and stability studies, design equipment for grid ties, and ensure compliance with grid codes while collaborating with utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree with a focus on power systems is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems engineering, with specific experience in grid interconnection.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and grid integration challenges.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical studies, including power flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis for grid connections.
• Design and specify electrical equipment and systems for renewable energy projects connecting to the grid.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, utility interconnection requirements, and relevant electrical standards.
• Collaborate with grid operators, utility companies, and project stakeholders to facilitate seamless integration.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and commissioning plans.
