Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Power Systems Engineer to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems across generation, transmission, distribution, and protection projects.

The candidate will perform advanced studies, specify equipment, develop protection schemes, and collaborate with utilities in a virtual environment. A Master’s in Power Engineering and 6+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 6+ years of professional experience in power system analysis and design.
• Experience with power system simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory).

Responsibilities

• Perform power flow, short circuit, and stability studies for complex power systems.
• Design and specify electrical equipment for substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
• Develop and review protection schemes and settings for system reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with project teams and utilities in a remote environment to define system requirements.
• Conduct site assessments remotely and provide technical recommendations for upgrades.
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices for power system design and operation.
