Placements24 is seeking a Remote Diagnostic & Support Engineer to join a global telecom and network solutions leader. This fully remote role supports clients in George, Western Cape and beyond, providing advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting from a home office.

You will analyze network performance, configure equipment remotely, create documentation, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex issues. Strong TCP/IP knowledge and certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or technical support for complex network environments.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) and diagnostic utilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a methodical troubleshooting approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote client interaction.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain high productivity remotely.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS) are highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level remote troubleshooting and diagnostic support for network hardware and software issues.
• Analyze network performance data to identify potential problems and recommend proactive solutions.
• Assist clients with configuration, installation, and maintenance of network equipment via remote access tools.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases, and support guides.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to resolve escalated issues.
• Monitor network health and alert systems; respond to critical incidents with urgency.
• Conduct remote training sessions for clients on network management and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and tools.
