Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Officer to join its remote-first team. This home-based role focuses on providing mental health support and guidance to clients via remote platforms, primarily from Rustenburg and surrounding areas.

You will listen, offer coping strategies, educate clients about conditions, coordinate referrals, and maintain confidential records with secure tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health support or related field.
• Experience providing remote support via digital channels.
• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct mental health support via telephone, video calls, and secure messaging.
• Assess clients’ mental health needs and develop personalized support plans.
• Educate clients on mental health conditions and coping strategies.
• Facilitate referrals to psychiatrists, psychologists, and other professionals.
• Maintain confidential client records using secure electronic systems.
• Collaborate with a remote team to ensure coordinated care.
