Placements24 seeks a Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to drive conceptualization, design, and refinement of new mechanical products from ideation to production readiness. Work entirely from home with a global engineering team to deliver innovative solutions.

You will create 3D models and drawings, run simulations, and ensure designs are manufacturable. The role emphasizes strong problem-solving and independent remote collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop new mechanical products using CAD software.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Conduct simulations (FEA, thermal) to validate performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize for production.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and provide feedback.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement revisions throughout product lifecycle.
