Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join our globally distributed team. This fully remote role focuses on designing, developing, and refining mechanical components and systems for a range of innovative products, translating complex requirements into practical, robust engineering solutions.

You will design and model parts with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, prepare drawings and BOMs, perform stress analyses, and collaborate with software, hardware, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and 2D drafting.
• Familiar with injection molding or CNC machining.
• Strong remote communication and self-management.

Responsibilities

• Design and model mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software.
• Develop drawings, specifications, and BOMs for production.
• Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary design analyses.
• Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams (software, hardware, manufacturing).
• Perform stress analysis and tolerance stack-up calculations.
• Troubleshoot design issues and iterate based on testing feedback.
