Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join the product development team. Work from home, collaborating with a global team to conceptualize, design, and refine new mechanical products from ideation to production readiness.

You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, run simulations (FEA/thermal), and ensure designs are manufacturable. This role requires at least 5 years of experience and strong CAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop new mechanical products using CAD software.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct simulations and analyses (FEA, thermal) to validate design performance and reliability.
• Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement design revisions as needed throughout the product lifecycle.
