Placements24 is seeking a Remote Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative product development team, working fully remotely from anywhere in South Africa. You will design, develop, and refine mechanical products from concept to production readiness, leveraging CAD tools and mechanical expertise.

You'll work with a distributed team, manage tasks independently, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Ability to work remotely and manage tasks independently.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and simulate mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Develop concepts and detailed designs meeting function, performance, and cost goals.
• Conduct stress and thermal analyses to validate designs.
• Collaborate with remote team members using digital platforms.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and test plans.
• Oversee prototype development and implement design improvements.
