Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, working remotely from Paarl. You will conceptualize, design, and refine mechanical systems using advanced CAD and simulation tools, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers and product specialists.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least four years of CAD experience, with strong problem-solving and self-management abilities for a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in mechanical design and CAD modeling.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or Inventor and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and design best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and remote communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD.
• Perform stress, thermal, and vibration analyses to verify designs.
• Create drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize for production and cost.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and provide feedback.
• Manage design tasks and timelines in a remote setup.
