Placements24 is seeking a remote Mechanical Engineer to lead design and validation of complex mechanical systems from anywhere in South Africa. You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, and perform stress, thermal, and vibration simulations with industry-standard tools.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of design experience, and excellent communication skills for collaborating with a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional mechanical design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation (ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Solid knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and part integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Run stress, thermal, and vibration simulations to verify designs.
• Collaborate with remote team members and stakeholders via digital tools.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure schedules and specs are met.
• Troubleshoot design issues during testing or manufacturing.
