Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a fully remote basis in South Africa. You will design mechanical components and systems, perform analyses, and collaborate virtually to deliver innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, strong CAD/CAE proficiency (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, ANSYS), and excellent communication for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, ANSYS).
• Strong manufacturing/process knowledge and independent remote work ability.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software.
• Perform detailed engineering analyses (stress, thermal, vibration) to validate designs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, specs.
• Collaborate virtually with R&D, manufacturing, and product management to ensure success.
• Identify design improvements for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
