Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage remote logistics operations, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency from a home-based office. You will coordinate shipments, track inventory, and collaborate with procurement, production, and sales to optimize material flow.

The role requires experience in logistics, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within manufacturing or supply chain.
• Solid understanding of logistics operations, transportation modes and inventory management.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with remote collaboration ability.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines remotely.
• Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Manage relationships with transportation carriers and negotiate rates.
• Track shipments in transit and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock management.
• Prepare shipping documents, customs declarations, and other logistical paperwork.
• Resolve any logistical issues or delays that may arise.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure efficient material flow.
• Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for savings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
