Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive an new virtual Innovation Hub from a fully remote position, with occasional meetings near Centurion. You will oversee end-to-end mechanical design for groundbreaking products and mentor distributed teams using digital collaboration tools.
The ideal candidate holds a PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, brings 12+ years of leadership and product development experience, and demonstrates a proven ability to bring novel mechanical
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related advanced field.
- 12+ years of mechanical design and leadership experience.
- Proven track record of bringing novel products to market.
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools and simulation methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the mechanical design and development of next-generation products and systems from ideation to production.
- Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team of mechanical engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Develop and implement innovative mechanical solutions, addressing complex design challenges with creativity and rigor.
- Conduct advanced simulations and analyses to validate designs and optimize performance across various parameters.
- Define technical roadmaps and strategies for mechanical engineering within the innovation division.
- Facilitate remote design reviews and technical discussions, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.
