Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Lead Geologist to join our client’s Oil & Gas operations in a fully remote capacity. You will oversee geological assessments, guide exploration strategies, and interpret subsurface data to support field development plans.

You will lead a team of geologists, mentor juniors, and collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to deliver integrated geological insights across projects, with a strong emphasis on remote collaboration and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing a technical geoscience team.
• Expertise in geological software packages and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead the geological interpretation of seismic, well log, and core data to identify hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop and refine geological models representing subsurface formations and fluid distribution.
• Guide and mentor a team of geologists to maintain high technical standards.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate geological insights into field development plans.
• Conduct prospectivity assessments and contribute to exploration portfolio management.
• Present geological findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
