Job summary

Placements24 in the Oil & Gas sector seeks a Lead Geologist to spearhead global exploration initiatives from a fully remote position. You will identify prospects, evaluate hydrocarbon potential, and develop geological models by interpreting seismic, well logs, and core data.

You will mentor a multinational team of geoscientists, guide strategy for drilling campaigns, and collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate geology into the exploration framework.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
• 10+ years in oil and gas exploration geology with prospect generation.
• Experience in seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy and basin analysis.
• Proficiency with Petrel or Kingdom Suite and data management systems.
• Strong leadership and remote-working capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead geological evaluation of new exploration opportunities and risk assessment.
• Develop and manage geological models and interpret seismic, well log, and core data.
• Plan and execute geological fieldwork and data acquisition programs.
• Provide input for exploration strategy, drilling campaigns and portfolio management.
• Mentor a team of exploration geologists and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Integrate geological insights into the broader exploration framework with management.
