Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Field Service Technician specializing in IT infrastructure to support client operations across regions. This fully remote role involves end-to-end installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex IT hardware and networks at client sites, with extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years in IT infrastructure support
• Proven experience with server hardware (e.g., Dell, HP), network devices (Cisco/Juniper), OS (Windows Server/Linux)
• Strong TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN knowledge
• Ability to travel extensively to client sites
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with remote diagnostic tools and ticketing systems
• IT certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+/CCNA) are advantageous

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and networking equipment
• Troubleshoot hardware and network issues at client locations with minimal downtime
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system upgrades for reliability
• Respond to service requests and emergencies with timely support
• Collaborate remotely with internal support teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues
• Document all service activities and maintain accurate records
• Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment for your area
• Provide on-site training and guidance to client IT staff
• Adhere to company policies and client-specific protocols
• Communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
