Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join a team with a remote-friendly policy from Randburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in information security, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with SIEMs, firewalls, and threat detection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in information security.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools and techniques.
• Understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security threats.
• Knowledge of security best practices and common frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including SIEM, firewalls, and IDS/IPS, for suspicious activity.
• Analyze security alerts and events to identify threats.
• Respond to security incidents, investigate root causes, and contain/remediate.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments.
• Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Support security awareness training for employees.
• Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices.
• Document security incidents and audit findings.
