Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Information Security Analyst to join the distributed security operations team. The role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats across a global infrastructure, leveraging SIEM, EDR, and other security tools from a fully remote environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in information security, hands-on experience with SIEM/EDR, and a solid understanding of cyber threats and defense strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of information security analysis/operations.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, and security monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack methods, and network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) for threats and incidents.
• Analyze alerts, perform initial investigations, escalate critical incidents.
• Respond to incidents per protocols: containment, eradication, recovery.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with teams.
• Contribute to security policy and playbook development.
• Stay updated on latest threats and defensive strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners remotely.
• Generate reports on security events and trends.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response.
• Maintain documentation of security activities and incidents.
