Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Analyst to join our fully remote team, supporting operations across Gauteng and beyond. This role focuses on monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response to protect digital assets.

As a remote-first position, you will collaborate with IT and security colleagues in a flexible, autonomous environment, applying best practices to strengthen security controls and policies while staying ahead of emerging threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in IT/CS or related field.
• 2-3 years of information security or IT security experience.
• Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity threats.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and analyze logs for signs of unauthorized access, malicious activity, and policy violations.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents, determining the scope and impact, and initiating appropriate response actions.
• Implement and maintain security tools and technologies, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and support remediation efforts in collaboration with IT teams.
• Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices to enhance security defenses.
