Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Process Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. You will optimize manufacturing workflows, improve product quality, and drive efficiency across production facilities using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC methodologies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of experience in process optimization within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering focusing on process optimization in manufacturing.
• Proven expertise applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Arena, FlexSim) and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects remotely and work independently.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and safety regulations in manufacturing.
• Experience in automotive or similar sectors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, quality issues, and areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC.
• Conduct workflow analysis, time studies, and capacity planning to optimize resources and throughput.
• Use simulation and data analytics to model process changes and predict outcomes.
• Develop and document SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with plant managers, production supervisors, and quality teams to ensure adoption of improvements.
• Monitor KPIs for production efficiency, quality, and cost and provide reports.
• Participate in selection and integration of new equipment and technologies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause analysis for corrective actions.
