Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to join a client team in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will optimize complex workflows, drive efficiency, and implement changes from a remote workspace, applying lean and Six Sigma principles.

The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, 6+ years of experience, proficiency with data analysis, process modeling and simulation tools, and excellent virtual collaboration skills to lead cross-site initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in industrial engineering.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred).
• Strong data analysis using statistical tools.
• Experience with process modeling and simulation software (Arena/AnyLogic).

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of operational processes across different sites to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement using data-driven methods.
• Develop, design, and implement optimized workflows, systems, and production plans to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Apply advanced lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and improve quality.
• Utilize simulation and modeling software to test and validate proposed process changes before implementation.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and best practice guides for remote accessibility.
• Collaborate with site-based operational teams and management via virtual platforms to gather requirements and ensure successful implementation of improvements.
• Track and analyze KPIs for operational performance, reporting insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead virtual project teams to implement improvement initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
