Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes from a remote base with emphasis on Soweto, Gauteng operations. You will apply lean methods, evaluate automation options, and develop SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role demands CAD proficiency, data analysis skills, and strong problem-solving abilities to drive productivity and cost reductions in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering focusing on manufacturing processes.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and tools (Kaizen, VSM, Poka-Yoke).
• Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and process flow diagrams.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical software (Excel, Minitab).
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize manufacturing processes, layouts and material flow for new and existing lines.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyze data to support new production technologies and automation.
• Create and maintain process documentation, SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and quality assurance to integrate new processes.
• Perform time and motion studies to establish labor standards and improve ergonomics.
