Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Purchasing Specialist to join the procurement team, enabling remote work from anywhere in South Africa. You will manage day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality.

This fully remote role collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers across the country to support efficient, compliant purchasing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Proficiency in purchasing software and ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services in accordance with policies.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, ensuring quality and reliability.
• Negotiate pricing and terms for routine and ad-hoc purchases.
• Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records and conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Communicate with internal departments to fulfill material needs.
