Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HR Manager for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will lead HR operations, align strategies with rapid growth and sustainability goals, and oversee talent management, compensation, and compliance.

This role reports to the leadership team and requires strong communication and strategic thinking. Your responsibilities include developing policies, managing the full employee lifecycle, and driving engagement in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Human Resources, including leadership exposure.
• Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies for growth.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law and HR best practices.
• Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and employee relations.
• Experience mentoring HR staff and leading teams (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and strategies aligned with company goals.
• Manage full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, offboarding.
• Oversee talent development programs, training, and career pathing.
• Administer compensation and benefits programs with a focus on competitiveness and compliance.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR matters, including relations and conflict resolution.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and regulations.
• Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives in a remote setting.
• Manage HRIS systems, reporting, and data accuracy.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Contribute to organizational development and change management efforts.
