Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled HR Specialist focusing on Employee Relations for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will investigate grievances, advise management, and help shape ER policies across our distributed workforce.

You must have a Bachelor's in HR or related field with at least 5 years in ER, strong knowledge of BCEA/LRA/EEA, and excellent negotiation and reporting skills. The role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience specifically in Employee Relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labour law (BCEA, LRA, EEA) and practical application.
• Proven experience conducting complex workplace investigations and providing resolutions.
• Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on ER issues and policies.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive workplace environment.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and company policies.
• Mediate disputes and facilitate resolution between employees and management.
• Assist in the development and delivery of ER training (anti-harassment, diversity).
• Analyse ER data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Advise on performance management issues and assist managers with improvement plans.
• Stay updated on changes in labour law and HR best practices.
• Contribute to ER policies and procedures development.
