About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous HR Compliance Manager to lead compliance efforts within their fully remote organization. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of South African labor law and extensive experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring HR compliance frameworks. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HR policies, procedures, and practices align with legal requirements and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HR compliance programs and policies.
• Conduct regular audits of HR practices to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Ensure adherence to all South African labor laws, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and Skills Development Act.
• Manage and oversee the company's compliance with BCEA, EEA, and other relevant legislation.
• Develop and deliver training programs to employees and management on HR compliance topics.
• Investigate and resolve employee grievances and disputes in compliance with legal procedures.
• Stay abreast of changes in labor legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.
• Manage relationships with legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee the development and implementation of fair and consistent disciplinary procedures.
• Advise senior management on compliance matters and strategic HR risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Law, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a significant focus on compliance and labor law.
• Extensive knowledge and practical application of South African labor legislation.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR compliance frameworks in a remote or distributed workforce setting.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and influencing capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
