About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized organization with a significant presence in South Africa, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote HR Compliance Officer. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. The HR Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all HR practices and policies adhere to local and international labor laws and regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, policy development, and compliance training. You will be instrumental in maintaining the company's ethical standards and mitigating legal risks associated with employment practices, all while working from the comfort of your own home. This is a remote-first role, emphasizing flexibility and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HR compliance programs and policies.
• Ensure adherence to South African labor laws, including the BCEA, LRA, EEA, and BBBEE.
• Conduct regular audits of HR practices and documentation to identify and address compliance gaps.
• Manage the investigation of compliance-related concerns and grievances.
• Develop and deliver training programs to employees and managers on HR compliance topics.
• Stay updated on changes in labor legislation and regulations and advise the HR department accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR compliance, labor law, or a related legal/HR role.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation and employment equity.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and conducting audits.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
• Proficiency in HRIS and document management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• High level of integrity and discretion.
• Experience with international labor laws is a plus.
