Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a Director of Digital Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO functions across multiple client verticals. You will own channel strategy, high-level audits, and the overall department performance, while the strategists execute campaigns under your direction.

You will be the client-facing owner for underperforming accounts, shape reporting, and manage hiring for the team. This is a management seat rather than a senior IC role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO.
• Experience owning channel strategy and client-facing ownership.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads.
• Proven turnaround of at least one account with clear metrics.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts.

Responsibilities

• Own channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Set quality standards, audits, and reporting for client work.
• Lead the PPC and SEO strategists and review performance.
• Lead hiring plan and first-round interviews for the department.
• Be the client-facing owner when accounts underperform.
