Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Specialist to join their innovative team, offering remote work flexibility. This role ensures seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the national electricity grid, analyzing grid impacts and developing technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus, 8+ years of experience, and a strong grasp of grid codes.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in power systems engineering focused on grid integration of renewables.
• Deep understanding of grid stability, fault analysis, and power flow dynamics.
• Experience with grid simulation software (PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP).
• Familiarity with South African grid codes and regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze the technical impact of renewable energy projects and distributed generation on the electricity grid.
• Develop and recommend technical solutions for grid interconnection, stability, and power quality issues.
• Collaborate with grid operators (e.g., Eskom), utilities, and project developers to facilitate smooth grid integration.
• Develop and review technical studies, including grid connection studies, stability analyses, and short-circuit studies.
• Stay informed about evolving grid codes, standards, and best practices for integrating variable renewable energy.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on grid integration challenges and opportunities.
