Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly accomplished Remote Financial Controller to lead finance operations. This senior role oversees all accounting functions, financial planning, and reporting from a distance, driving efficiency and ensuring global financial integrity in a virtual setting.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting/finance, CA(SA) or equivalent, deep IFRS knowledge, and proven ability to manage remote teams with strong strategic thinking and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA) or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum 10+ years in accounting/finance with at least 5 years in a Controller/leadership role.
• Extensive experience with IFRS, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Proven ability to manage and lead remote teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, GL, and reporting.
• Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
• Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams remotely, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and the board.
