Placements24 is seeking a remote Financial Controller to lead the finance department from any location. This senior role oversees accounting, financial reporting, compliance and internal controls for a growing organisation.

You will manage a distributed team, ensure IFRS compliance with South African tax laws, and partner with the executive team on budgeting, forecasting and strategic initiatives. A CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA qualification with at least eight years of progressive accounting experience is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional qualification (CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA) is essential.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with 3+ years in controller roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and GL.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS and SA regulations.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with strategic guidance to the executive team.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Mentor the finance and accounting team to foster high performance.
