Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Financial Controller to lead finance operations from a remote capacity. You will oversee accounting, reporting, and compliance, managing a distributed team and implementing cloud-based financial systems for strategic planning and control.

The role requires 8+ years in finance, with 3+ years in a controller position, strong IFRS knowledge, and a proven track record in remote team leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA qualification essential.
• 8+ years in finance, 3+ years in a controller/leadership role.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and tax/compliance experience.
• Experience leading remote teams and implementing cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all accounting operations including payroll, AP/AR, GL.
• Oversee timely financial statements and IFRS-compliant reporting.
• Establish internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Manage tax compliance and regulatory filings.
• Develop and execute budgeting/forecasting plans.
• Lead and mentor a remote finance team.
