Assist World is seeking a Finance Support / Accounting Assistant to join a fully remote team supporting US operations from South Africa. You will assist with AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close, using Sage and other accounting software.

The role emphasizes accuracy, independence and timely task delivery, with part-time hours aligned to US business hours. The position offers a remote, international arrangement with growth potential to full-time as the workload scales.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in accounting/finance support role.
• Understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close processes.
• Strong Excel skills and organisational abilities.
• Sage experience is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day support to the finance and accounting team.
• Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Support month-end financial close.
• Assist with account and bank reconciliations.
• Help reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies.
• Support inventory-related accounting and reporting.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining financial data.
• Enter and update financial information accurately.
• Help investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work with the wider finance team to complete month-end requirements.
• Use Sage to maintain and review financial information.
• Communicate with internal teams via email, phone and Microsoft Teams.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
