Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Staff Accountant to join a fully distributed finance team. The role focuses on accurate financial management, remote collaboration, and high-quality reporting across regions.

You will work independently using cloud tools to support global operations. Requirements include a bachelor's in accounting, 4+ years of hands-on experience, proficiency with cloud-based software (Xero/QuickBooks Online) and advanced Excel, and strong remote-work communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably remote.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards.
• Proficient with Xero or QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel.
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting remotely, GL maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare timely financial reports including P&L and balance sheets for management.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently.
• Assist in tax returns and ensure compliance with SA tax legislation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors via virtual channels.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.

Requirements
