Placements24 is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will support the Financial Accountant with daily accounting tasks, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a growing e-commerce setting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 1–3 years' experience, and familiarity with Xero/QuickBooks/Sage One and Excel. A proactive, learning-minded, and independent operator will thrive in this virtual team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Completed or in progress towards SAIPA or SAICA articles.
• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage One and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent remote communication and self-motivation.
• Ability to work independently in a virtual team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
