Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Risk Manager in Pretoria, Gauteng, with a remote-first setup. The role focuses on strengthening the operational risk framework across all functions, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a risk-aware culture.

You will lead ERM implementation, risk assessments, and training programs, reporting to senior management and regulators. A Master’s in a related field and 8+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CRM/FRM/PRM certifications desirable.
• 8+ years of progressive risk management experience, preferably in financial services or insurance.
• Experience developing and implementing ERM frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of SA legislation (FAIS, FICA, Solvency Assessment and Management).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess, and quantify operational risks across business units.
• Design risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, control testing, and internal audits.
• Monitor emerging risks and industry trends; provide advice to leadership.
• Develop risk management training for employees at all levels.
• Prepare risk reports for senior management, board, and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies.
• Lead investigations into significant risk events and incidents.
