Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Risk Manager for a leading financial institution in Port Elizabeth. The role leads enterprise risk management across market, credit, operational and compliance risks, develops frameworks, policies, and reports to senior management and the board.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Finance/Economics/Risk Management with 8+ years in financial services and holds FRM/PRM/CFA or similar credentials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of risk management experience within financial services.
• FRM/PRM/CFA certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the enterprise risk management framework.
• Identify, assess and prioritise key risks across market, credit, operational, liquidity and compliance areas.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Develop and maintain risk policies, procedures, and controls.
• Prepare risk reports for senior management and the board after regular assessments.
• Monitor effectiveness of risk strategies and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and mentor the risk management team and foster a risk-aware culture.
• Collaborate with departments to embed risk principles into business processes.
• Stay updated on industry practices and regulatory changes.
