You will lead ERM implementation, risk assessments, and training programs, reporting to senior management and regulators. A Master’s in a related field and 8+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CRM/FRM/PRM certifications desirable.
• 8+ years of progressive risk management experience, preferably in financial services or insurance.
• Experience developing and implementing ERM frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of SA legislation (FAIS, FICA, Solvency Assessment and Management).

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the insurance industry, is seeking a seasoned Risk Manager to oversee and enhance their operational risk framework. This critical role, based in Pretoria, involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all business functions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, or PRM are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services or insurance sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing ERM frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control environments.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant South African legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAIS, FICA, Solvency Assessment and Management).
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in risk management software and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives within a Pretoria-based operational setting, adapted for a remote-first approach.
