Placements24 partners with a leading financial services institution in Pretoria to appoint a Senior Risk Manager who will oversee risk operations within the insurance division. The role requires deep ERM expertise and a proven track record in risk governance at senior levels.

You will lead risk mitigation initiatives, advise senior management, and shape risk culture across the organization, contributing to resilient business operations in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of risk management experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ERM frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, controls and mitigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess and monitor key risks across insurance operations.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and scenario analyses.
• Ensure compliance with financial services and insurance regulations.
• Develop and deliver risk management training to staff.
• Prepare risk reports for senior management and the board.
• Investigate and manage risk incidents and root causes.
• Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams.
• Stay abreast of emerging risks and industry best practices.
