Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa offers a remote-first opportunity for an experienced Embedded Automotive Software Developer to join its advanced R&D team, coordinating from Bloemfontein. You will design and implement software for automotive ECUs using C/C++, MISRA C guidelines, and RTOS, collaborating with hardware and systems engineers across the development lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded software, at least 3 in automotive, and strong knowledge of CAN/LIN and Automotive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience; 3+ years in automotive.
• Strong C/C++ skills and RTOS experience.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN and Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with Git and debugging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive ECUs using C/C++.
• Follow MISRA C guidelines and write maintainable code.
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and system architects on software requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and debugging of complex issues.
