Placements24 is seeking a remote Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to join its dispersed engineering team in South Africa. You will design, code, test, and debug embedded software for vehicle systems using C/C++, with MISRA C/C++ compliance and RTOS integration.

You'll collaborate with hardware and systems engineers on software requirements, drivers, and diagnostics, while maintaining documentation and contributing to automotive protocol work (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Software/Electrical or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of embedded software development experience in automotive applications.
• Proficiency in C and C++ and strong understanding of embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with MISRA C/C++ and AUTOSAR a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive control units and systems using C/C++.
• Develop and maintain software drivers, firmware, and middleware for embedded hardware platforms.
• Implement RTOS functionalities and optimize software for performance and resource usage.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and participate in integration testing.
• Debug and resolve defects identified during testing and production.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to define software requirements and architecture.
• Maintain software documentation and design specifications.
