Job summary

Placements24 clients seek a Remote Automotive Software Developer specializing in embedded systems to design, develop, and implement software for critical in-vehicle systems. Work entirely remotely with a distributed team on next-gen automotive tech, focusing on driver assistance, infotainment, and vehicle control.

You will leverage C/C++ and RTOS expertise to deliver robust, high-performance software while collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages.
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, QNX, or similar.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet automotive protocols.
• Experience with debugging tools, emulators, and oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Write clean, efficient C/C++ code for RTOS environments.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for sensor fusion, control loops, and communications.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Develop unit, integration, and system tests to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot defects and performance issues; contribute to tooling and automation.
• Document software designs, APIs, and test procedures.
