Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Software Developer to join a distributed engineering team. You will design, develop, and implement software for next‑gen vehicles, including infotainment, ADAS, and connected features.

This role emphasizes embedded systems, RTOS, and automotive standards, with collaboration across hardware and software teams. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in automotive software, strong C++, Java, or Python skills, and comfort working remotely in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience with embedded/automotive focus.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or similar.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a remote team.
• Experience with AUTOSAR or similar automotive standards is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working in a fully remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and debug software for automotive applications, ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Develop software components for embedded systems, user interfaces, and communication modules.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers to define software requirements and specifications.
• Implement software according to established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Optimize software performance and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in automotive software development and relevant technologies.
