Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Environmental Health and Safety Officer with a sanitation focus. You will develop and implement robust sanitation protocols across sites, ensuring compliance with national and international health and safety standards, while leading virtual audits and training for a remote workforce.

The role emphasizes strategic policy development, remote oversight, and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive EHS experience with focus on sanitation and hygiene management.
• Experience developing and implementing sanitation policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OHS Act, health regulations).
• Strong virtual communication, training delivery, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs with emphasis on sanitation and hygiene.
• Conduct risk assessments related to sanitation across diverse environments.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards.
• Create and deliver training materials on sanitation, chemical safety, and hazard communication for remote teams.
• Conduct virtual audits and inspections to assess sanitation effectiveness.
• Develop emergency preparedness and response plans related to sanitation and public health.
• Advise management on EHS matters, especially hygiene and cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate EHS records including incident reports and training documentation.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in EHS and sanitation management.
